You can escape the crowds on your Myrtle Beach golf vacation at Grand Dunes' Members Club.

One of the best things about a Myrtle Beach golf vacation is the sheer quantity and quality of golf courses you can play, but I must admit, sometimes the crowds and the herding tactics of certain golf courses can be annoying.
Now theres a place that offers a respite from all that. Anyone staying at the brand new Marina Inn at Grand Dunes or the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes enjoys access to the private Members Club at Grande Dunes.
The club, the highfalutin sister of the Roger Rulewich-designed and public-accessible Resort Club at Grande Dunes, treats players to a rarified golf experience on a Myrtle Beach golf vacation.
First, theres a relaxed, tranquil air about the place. In utter contrast to other Myrtle Beach golf courses, or "factories" that pile groups onto their fairways every eight minutes, the Members Club almost never exceeds 100 players per day.
Another nice feature of the Members Club at Grande Dunes is that its a friendly course. The fairways are so inviting theyre often hard to miss. The game gets a little trickier on and around the greens, which have a Pinehurst-like contouring, big bunkers, and close-cropped grassy hollows, but nothing is too severe. Designers Nick Price and Craig Schreiner created a golf course to please the members, who evidently wanted the opportunity to score well every day.
Some people might not like the fact that guests who are unaccompanied by a member must take either a caddie or forecaddie, but I thought it was a nice change of pace for a Myrtle Beach golf vacation. In fact, when my looper began raking the trap Id just disturbed and then cleaned off my ball when we were on the green, I momentarily thought this was Pinehurst after all.
